SHAMROCK SHAKE VIDEO

This video is one of a bunch we took... but because this computer is so slow I'm only uploading this one for you to view until I get home. Wait until you see the drum circle vids and the parasailing videos! You will be blown away!

Forgot to blog yesterday... hehe - SHAMROCK SHAKES!!!

So yesterday was melancolhey... (spelling... um...) because I had a hard time staying in the day. It was that last day with the "banana split" and I was so loving driving that thing around! Boy do I miss the freedom already...

Anyways, we spent the day at Siesta Beach and had a great breakfast followed by tanning and swimming in the Gulf. The sand is crystal quartz beautifulness... bringing some home! I made a sand penguin... We also shopped and met some very nice people who gave us some GREAT deals on trinkets! Don't worry, all of you will be spoiled when I get home (lol). I bought an extra suitcase. Seriously. Worth it tho!

Went to a meeting at a beautiful AA club with Capt'n Ken and it was fantastic! Best meeting, totally relaxed and mixed up with NA, CA, AA members. No AA nazis anywhere - and the sharing was incredible - testing your sobriety/clean time. Honest and open, great people.

Afterwards, Ken invited us to go to karaoke, which Sean LOVED. He's not bad either (just don't tell him I said that hehehe...). We had a lot of fun hanging out and at the end of the evening, Ken invited us to go out on his boat the next morning for a FREE parasail and boat ride!!! WOOO!!!

Discovered that Shamrock shakes were out and Sean almost died! We videotaped it... I'm going to try to post it all.

And... now I'm going to spill into today!

We got up early and took back my bebe (the car), then went down to the docks to meet Ken. (Thanks again Aunt Jan for the lift!). And off we went with two girls from Buffalo. Because it was just us we got to fly for half an hour and saw dolphins swimming and gorgeous views. We tried doing flips in the air, but I'm just not coordianated enuf (LOL). The girls from Buffalo were awesome at it tho (skinny beautiful girls... damn). It was awesome.

Said goodbye to Kenneth after the wonderful morning and had lunch at a place where they didn't know what "au jus" meant. We had a laugh! Then came home and had a long nap!

Got up, went down to Lido to watch a beautiful sunset among the first clouds we have seen since we arrived! Then took Jan out for dinner at this gorgeous restaurant with valet parking on the water sitting along the shoreline listening to a live band and sipping virgin daquiris. What a way to end the trip!

Tomorrow, I am NOT looking forward to. Jan's friends are having a party next door for St. Paddy's and they call it "DRUNCH". Needless to say, Sean and I will probebly duck out for a meeting if possible. These women LOVE to party!

Anyhoo, enuf blogging for this evening. I'm going to try to post more pics and videos we've made over the past few days and then relax to watch a movie and read more of Twilight. You may not hear more from me until I get home because after the drunken party we leave for home around 7pm. We will probebly arrive in Hamilton around 2am Monday morning. Booo... it was great while it lasted though!

Thank you so much Aunt Jan, and Sean! I feel so grateful and blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life today. This vacation was absolutely phenomenal... thank you thank you - from the bottom of my heart!

See y'all back in the Hammer soon!

Luv, Beth

A hard day at work

Thursday

We worked so hard to day , We went to Venice beach , our goal today shark teeth and tans.

So we set out and hit the beach . As soon as we got there Beth set out to find shark teeth in the surf. 20 min. of wacthing her I decided to give her a hand . So like any Veteran traveler I told her I would be right back and then headed for the local store and baught a bag full for $5 .
I returned to see her still sifting through the sand .

I decided to have some fun and took some teeth out of the bag and act like I was finding them in the surf.

The more i would find the more pissed she would get at me . I couldn't keep this up because eventually she would figure it out and of course then kill me.

I let her in the joke and she didn't hurt me that much.

So we caught some rays and then did some shopping .

We came back home to a nice chicken diner. Got changed and headed out for some comedy.

The show was good . we got some giggles . I bought a dvd if anyone wants to see.

Then got home in time to wacth ER WHAT A *!@#en rip off.

All in all a good day of laughs.l

SEAN

Just Chillin'

The day was another cloudless sunny perfect day!

We visited Venice Beach today, the most southern key we have visited so far. Venice Beach is known for people finding shark teeth, so I was excited to go. We visited Venice Inlet last weekend and saw dolphins if you recall from a previous blog.

I'm going to let Sean tell you all how he tricked me with the GD shark teeth LOL (that BASTARD!!!). It doesn't matter... my kids will be happy when I go back to work! Woooo!

We suntanned and relaxed, then went shopping! That was FUN! I now have to take a trip to walmart and get me another suitcase tho... seriously! HAHA. But I am bringing presents!!!

Had a delicious dinner with Jan, then went out to a comedy club for the evening! It was really cool, except for when they tried to card me even though we were VIP status (Jan's next door neighbour knows the owners). I still got in LOL. It's all good!

Sat and watched ER with George Clooney last night eating cheesecake with whipped cream and strawberries!

OOoooh... I got guatemalan worry people!!! They are soooo cool! I can't wait to share all of this in person with everyone! ...but I don't wanna go home either!!! Oh mann......

Blog ya later!

As serene as a buddas fart

Day 5
Today was an adventure in serenity. We went parasailing which if you have not done, is one of the most calming things one can do for themselves.

Beth and I had one of the best times . I really can't descibe the feeling a calm came over me and i started to look at things differently. the world seems to come in focus when you look at it from a birds eye view.

After we whent up I started to talk to the Capitain( KEN) . He noticed beths' service ring and asked if we were in the program. It turns out he's 18 years clean. "It goes to show we have friends everywhere" he said.

Beth waqs surprized and talk to him for a little while. He asked us to exchange numbers , i hope we talk to him a little more before we go.

Then we went for a massage . I was like puddy . I didn't think I would be able to get up afterwards.

Then we treated ourselves to a decident diner. Mmmmmm. good.

After that we really didn't want to do much else . Who would ? So we headed back home and ate cheese cake and wacth a movie.

Sounds like a self-centured day, and it was . you have to try it .
If you think it's too self indulgent well, what can i say call your sponsor. :)

BEST DAY EVER!

Um, on a scale of one to ten I would consider the day a 100 LOL.

We started off by going to Dennys for breakfast! Mmmm...

Then headed to Siesta Key for parasailing! OH MY GOD!!!

It was the greatest thing I have ever done and the "highest" I've been clean! WoOt!!! Absolutely beautiful view, 500 ft in the air above everything. The colours of the water were breathtaking and the serene sense of floating was overwhelming. I didn't want to come down!

Ooooh and I found my CABANA BOY!!! First mate on the ship! He's the guy in the red shorts if anyone is following the pictures. Its in the Parasailing Album. Yum...

Capt'n Ken (Kenneth) noticed my ring as we climbed aboard and called us over to have a ciggy at the stern while he was driving out a boatload of us. Turns out he's in recovery 18 years this month! How cool is that?! Tell me there's no Higher Power! Anyhoo, we exchanged numbers and hope to meet up within the next few days that we are here.

Ok, so after the beautiful and exhilirating experience of parasailing we went to "The Little Day Spa" for massages! Sweeeeeet! Ahhh... so relaxing!

Then hit a hot spot downtown on a patio for dinner where I had the best bruschetta in my life!

Went to Publix and bought about 5 pounds of Grits for Aine (lol, see pics). I am going to have to buy another suitcase just for those!

Also, bought cheesecake, whipped cream and strawberries to munch on at home.

Oh, and in the pics there is a small manatee swimming on my comforter in my blue/green room! I never introduced you. This is Morty the Manatee (I named him myself). He likes to stare down Sean after a long day LOL.

BEST DAY EVER!!! (teeney "orgasm" here lmfao!)

Owwww fishes

Day 5

We went to the Mote today, Sharks dolphins and manatees oh my.
The amount of sea life we saw would give the cook at Long John Silvers a chubby.

I can't put into words the wonder i felt and seeing all the beauty god has to offer was astounding.

Sadly i started to get a pounding headache. I was out of commision for a good couple of hours.

Thank you Beth for taking care of me.

Later we decided to cacth a movie " the wacthmen" I found it slow and it started to get alittle gross. So we wwent from there and decided to drive around abit.

We ended up at Seista Beach under a moon so bright you could see forever. What an experience.

we found a giant sand castle that someone built that day and took some pictures before the surf washed it away.

I have to go we are leaving for a greatday.

Sean

The MOTE, the beach, the WATCHMEN

Yesterday was neat!

We went to the MOTE - which is an aquatic research centre. We saw tons of cool fish, HUGE sea turtles, touched sting rays, felt sea cucumbers and sea urchins, watched dolphins, sharks, jellyfish and MANATEES!!!

Sean got a headache (too much sun) so we had a siesta (ie. NAP) and then headed out on the town again. Worked on our tans.

SOMEONE was jealous of their sponsor going to see the WATCHMEN, so we went to the theatre - IT SUCKED. I WALKED OUT. Anyways... (lol Pete).

Then we hit Siesta Key and walked along the beach with the full moon that lit up the sky as if it were broad daylight. It was absolutely gorgeous!

what do you mean shit the bed?

Looks like Beth and Jan shit the bed this day. For all those who don't know shit the bed means got up early.

Quick morning, got up and picked up the car. Seriously people the fucking car is yellow and i MEAN YELLOW , I thought I saw a canary try to screw the damn thing. Beth doesn't know it yet but I'm calling the car banana split ( it's yellow and takes off fast).

So the adventure has gone to the next level, freedom of movement HA HA HA.

Our first destination Walmart. We baught cloths . I'll leave it at that. Second place IHOP. Third place home. Elapsed time 4 hours. Before you say anything the GPS took us all the fuck over the place and back again, I liked the sights ( keep lying to yourself Sean) a couple of times i was scared shit less. Francais yesturday decided to be nice and tell us all the bad places to avoid.
And now the brain starts spinning. Thank you beth for keeping me grounded. She on the other hand was getting mad with the gps .OH well. On to the other things.

After a brief rest we headed over to Lido we had work to do ON OUR TANS.
a nice afternoon swimming and sun bathing.

Had a nice pasta diner . Then headed for a meeting on the other side of town. AND HERE WE GO AGAIN, bacause after the meeting i suggested we go for shakes, And the gps stikes again 30 min later and1/4 tank of gas ( I may be exaggerating a bit but not much ) we found it.

All and all it was a great day.

Sean

It ended better than it started

Day 3

I would like to start by talking a little about yesterday. For those wondering what I'm doimg with the hammer, I'm smashing crab claws.

Shit the bed again. Woke up to discover Beth had a bad night and was up caughing to the wee hours.

So we hit the the walgreens for more meds.

After hitting a nap she was feeling a little better. So we headed to the inlet. We watched the dolphens play. And i watched Jan and Beth get furious with boaters who speed.

We then went for lunch at alittle sea food resturante. It was great.

We then went to my aunt friends Sandy ( they call her Sandy Beach) she has cute orange house a block or two from Siesta beach. The sand is like baby powder. Its the first time a big smile play across beth's face. She's been so sick and finally getting over it and started to enjoy herself.
We left Sandy's and head for the weekly drum circle they have here. It was amazing, 300 people in a circle dancing, clapping and enjoying the sounds;I felt like it was a weekly thank you they give to the sun as it sets.

What else can I say you have to experince it yourself.

My Aunt then was nice enough to drop us off at our first meeting since we have been here.
Wow, What a beatiful facility. About 100 people. And the amazing thing is they do it in an hour.
I learned so great things i plan to share when i get back.

After the meeting we met Francais, an older gentlemen with lots of recovery time and some not so liked opinions. Well not liked by some others Beth and I thought he was great. He offerd us a lift back and it turns out his sponsor lives around the corner from my aunt.
Well it goes to show you can't go up unless your down.

Sean

The start of a perfect day

Day 2
Shit the bed !!! Yep up at 7:00 . And everyone else was still sleeping. Eventually everyone else got up and we decided to go to the open market. I found out that they close main st. down and set up shop.

The smells, colours and sounds were amazing. The people were all in such a relaxed mood giving out flyers for the opera, doing massages, cooking etc. We bought our food for breakfast and diner. Saw the sights and headed back for a well deserved breakfast.

In the afternoon we headed for Lido Beach ( lido is spanish for beach; I know but don't ask) We set out to work ( on our tans) Beth waded into the gulf and collected shells while Jan and i caught up on old times.

We ended up going to the Lido beach resort to have mocktails and watch the sun set over the gulf. A must do.

We stopped at a fish market and picked up snow crab and swordfish for diner.
The meal was excellent. Thanks Jan. We decided to go to bed early. So i hit the Land Yauht.

So the day ended like it started- PERFECT.

Day Four - More!!!

Today we started our day off by picking up our rental car! It's a Chevy Aveo and bright banana yellow! It drives like a go kart - Im' having so much fun! The GPS we brought is SHIIIIIT (or Seans backseat driving is LOL) but we found our way around!

Lets see... shopping started us off and I finally got a bathing suit!!! And my summer wardrobe LOL! Love it! I was in my prime :) you'll see as the pictures keep piling up. I think we are at about 350 or more on our online album... check it out!!! We update that everyday!

Then, back to Lido Key and Lido Beach where we worked hard on our tans again... my goal is to look Jamacian, but I don't think that's gonna happen hehe... I had tons of fun swimming in the surf and relaxing. Sean and I had a lot of laughs...

We ate a delicious dinner courtesy of Aunt Jan and headed to another NA Meeting. It was great!

Sean was in the mood for a milkshake (which brings all the boys to the yard?) so we got lost again and finally found a Checkers with huge chocolate milkshakes!

Came home... and now are relaxing planning tomorrow whick is going to be awesome - we are going to the MOTE (aquarium)!

Think I've caught you up on my half, although I've rushed through a lot and Sean has to fill you in on the past few days!

Miss ya... but am thinking of moving here!!! wOot!!!

Day Three - Rhymes with Tree!

Ok, day three was AWESOME!

I felt waaaaaay better after a good nights sleep. We visited two other beaches on two seperate keys...

Venice Inlet: dolphins, pelicans, shells, fishing...

Lunch: liftbridge restaurant where we had conch fritters, shrimp and crab cakes...

Siesta Beach: My fav beach so far! The sand is crushed quartz crystal and feels like baby powder under your feet. Gorgeous... Visited Sandy in Siesta Beach where we drank "soda" during happy hour LOL.

... the most awesome part was after happy hour and we went down to another part of Siesta Key Beach and went to this incredible drumming circle for sunset. Hundreds of people!!! It was beautiful, with so much music and dancing! I used Aunt Jan's finger drum from Brazil and joined in the fun... video to follow! Leona, I was thinking of you!!!

We were dropped off after the breathtaking drum circle to our first NA meeting down here. About a hundred people there, meeting an hour long and very cool. I got to close the circle which was neat and we met some new friends! Francis is awesome! He gave us a lift home and told us where NOT to go (the "hood") and he signed my 6th Ed. Basic Text from the meeting! (I also got something else really cool, but Sean wants me to keep that a secret ahaha!!)

Day 3 - one of the best days ever!

Ok, CATCH UP Time!

Alrighty, day two...

Beach Day! Woo! Lido Beach - collected tons of shells and relaxed... we went on a small tour of the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Oh ya! We went to the 4 block Farmers market which was great! Got tons of fresh food for dinner including veggies, fruit and fish!

At sunset, we were on da beach mon... drinkin "mocktails" at the bar with Aunt Jan woOt! Absolutely wonderful day...

Nighttime hit... I thought I was gonna die. I swear I've been keeping Walgreens in business since I got here. I have bronchitus but can't go to a goddamn doctor (stupid US lol). Cried a lil bit... it wasn't so good. They made me drink this lemony shit... and then I fell asleep.

Yup, day two - the good with the bad that still was awesome cuz I'm in PARADISE!!!

And away we go

The day started early 4:45 am, I still had to go for work. It didn't Bother me though, had planned for a half day.
Luckly my co-workers knowing I was going on vacation let me go even earlier, only had to work 2 and 1/2 hours. Yeah baby!!!!
Was extremely excited to go . I got home finished putting my stuff together, headed over to my mothers and called Beth. I suggested we go for lunch be for we headed off. I thought it would help kill time and I could introduce Beth to my mother; they never meet face to face before.
We went to Bronzies, that's when it started I started running into people I know, lunch was great . I think my mother and Beth got along great( too great i think they both strarted to pick on little ole me.) i was very happy. We went to pick up my step father and off we went.
We crossed the border without event and got to the airport, and it happen again we ran into another friend of mine;Beth is strarting to freak"see i told you know everyone."I had to laugh .
We got through security although it's like you are being strip searced. It went fast for me . We were on the plane and off we went.
I meet a new friend Kelly from north carolina, we talk the whole time to charolette, he even offered a job. What great guy. we landed in charolette and had time for a smoke "THANK YOU GOD" We had to pass through security again. Beth almost lost her jewelry. Security in north carolina are really nice they went through the machinery and found Beth ring and were really nice about it .
So we head over to our gate, i'll get into more detail about that later, beth needed to go freshen up so i waited while she went to the washroom. that's when it happen again I ran into my friend Laura(thankfully beth was indisposed i think she would of freaked)she was headed to different connecting flight. Beth got back and we headed to our gate thankfully she noticed the gate change. She seemed to be getting nervous.
The flight went fast . we landed early in Sarasota just to let you know it's Hamilton's sister city. Beth and my Aunt Jane met and seemed to get along great. So we headed over to her house which is awesome. Keep an eye out we'll post pictures. We were pretty bagged so we talked for a bit ate a little and headed for bed. Can't wait for tomorrow so away we go.

Day One - Beth

Day ONE:

Nervous, excited, sad, anxious, sniffles, cough.....

Met Sean's mum Molly and went out for lunch with her. Who is awesome!

Left Hamilton, ON at 3pm to go to the Buffalo Airport. Once there, of course, Sean runs into his old friend and they chat it up for a while. We take our shoes off, go through the metal detectors and finally get on the plane by 7pm. It was a long but fun wait. On the plane, I start to get nervous (as I have not flown since I was, um... 10?) so I down my anxiety meds and feel a bit better (there are pics to follow this, I just can't seem to upload them!). I get the window seat (yay!) and Sean is stuck in the middle of me and a guy named Kelly, who was very nice and talkative (which Sean loved). By the end of the flight, Kelly had offered Sean a full time job in North Carolina if he ever got laid off from Ford (figures).

Get off the plane in Charlotte, NC for our layover. I go to the bathroom and Sean runs into another person he knows (some chicky, don't remember her name). Starting to think Sean is slightly popular all over the world as we can't go anywhere without him making a friend or running into an old one!!! Slightly jealous...

Almost get on a plane to New Orleans... but I spotted the gate change in time!!!

Takeoff to final destination - Sarasota! Sean and I sit togethor and laugh our asses off watching dave chappelle on my new mp3 player... scare the flight attendant (LOL).

Get into Sarasota way earlier than planned (the pilot was speeding!) and we wait for our luggage to go round and round... Go outside for a ciggy and HUGE palm trees and warm breeze greets us... ah..... I hug a palm tree (photos to follow).

"Sean!" - and there is Aunt Jan!!! Who is one of the most wonderful women I have ever met! Her home is just about 5 mins away from the airport and is so cute and beautiful and cozy and exotic... way cool! Her cat I mistake for a dog at first... love Petunia! We eat pizza and crash... I hit the pillow like a rock, feeling slightly sick but brush it off as "just a cold..."

More will be revealed!!! Sean's turn!!!
